Calling a carpet cleaner can be easy for anyone seeking carpet cleaning. What I mean is what do you ask or say to the cleaner to get down to the nitty-gritty? Most of the time my clients call asking for a quote. Its either because they are shopping around or they just don’t know what to ask. Now if you are just shopping around for a price and you have no preference as to what kind of service you want, go ahead and just ask about price. I don’t suggest doing that because carpet cleaners do have an odd image for a reason. They are not all as great as me.
To start, just introduce yourself like any other conversation. As a caller you shouldn’t have to worry about leading the conversation. The person who picks up the phone, for the cleaning company, should walk you through some usual questions. But if you want to get ahead of them you can prepare yourself by introducing yourself even more so. Tell them your name, what area you live in or about, and what type of cleaning your looking for. This will eliminate the part were the carpet cleaning sales rep asks those questions.
After you introduce yourself, if you have questions in mind, ask them. Its good to have questions to ask. That lets us, as cleaners, know what you care about your carpet. Some callers, as mentioned earlier, are just price shopping. Those are the callers who likely don’t care what type of service they get or if they get a decent cleaning or not. I highly recommend not being one of those people if you care about your home. That leads me into talking about different types of cleaning and what makes a great cleaning. That’s for another time though. Here is a link to another post I wrote talking about what makes carpet cleaning so very important.
Back to the subject at hand… The call. Simply put, introduce yourself and talk to the representative as if its a regular conversation. If you have specific questions, ask them. If you are not to concerned, let the representative lead the conversation and they should walk you through everything real smoothly.
